Scott Anthony Mitchell (born August 4, 1983) is a former American gridiron football wide receiver who played college football at the University of Kentucky and professionally in the Arena Football League (AFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL). After his playing career, he transitioned into talent management, consulting, and entrepreneurship. In 2025, Mitchell gained national media attention for intervening in a fire incident at Runyon Canyon in Los Angeles, which led to the founding of the civic initiative Protect Our Path.

Mitchell was born in Southern California and spent the latter part of his childhood in League City, Texas. His father, Marc Mitchell, was a member of the University of Southern California football team that won a national championship, playing alongside Marcus Allen and Ronnie Lott. His mother, Cheryl, was born and raised in Carson, California. Mitchell is the oldest sibling on both sides of his family. He began playing football at age 12 after relocating to Texas, initially aspiring to pursue basketball at the collegiate level. He became a two-sport athlete at Clear Creek High School, earning All-District honors in both football and basketball. As a senior, he was recognized as Area Athlete of the Year.

Mitchell walked on at the University of New Mexico in 2001 before transferring to Mt. San Antonio College in 2002. Over 14 games at Mt. SAC, he recorded 64 receptions for 1,288 yards and 11 touchdowns, emerging as one of the top junior college receivers in the country. He received more than 30 scholarship offers and was ranked among the top 100 junior college prospects. In 2004 he transferred to the University of Kentucky, where he played for two seasons. With the Wildcats, Mitchell appeared in 20 games and totaled 53 receptions for 671 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 12.7 yards per catch.

After going undrafted in the 2006 NFL Draft, Mitchell was selected by the Berlin Thunder in the 2007 NFL Europe Draft but was released during final roster cuts. Later that year, he signed with the New Orleans VooDoo of the Arena Football League, where he recorded 17 receptions for 185 yards and one touchdown over three games. Mitchell went on to join the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League in 2008. He appeared in 16 games and recorded 38 receptions for 697 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 18.3 yards per reception. He later signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2009 but did not record any game appearances.
