Biraj Sutradhar (born 7 June 2002) is an Indian singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Cooch Behar, West Bengal. He is known for his soulful acoustic songs, indie musical expression, and emotional lyricism. Biraj gained early attention after appearing on the Bengali reality TV show Aakashe Superstar and is the founder of the independent band Fourth Dimension.

Early life and education

Biraj was born and raised in Cooch Behar, West Bengal. He completed his primary education at Arabinda Patha Bhawan, followed by Jenkins School (Madhyamik - 2018, Higher Secondary - 2020). He earned a diploma in Turner Trade from ITI in 2022 and is currently pursuing his graduation from Cooch Behar College.

Career

Biraj began learning guitar in class 10 with help from a friend. After buying his first personal guitar, he started exploring music theory and playing melodies, which led him into singing and composing his own songs. He founded a band called Fourth Dimension and became known in his region for his raw, heartfelt performances.

He appeared on the Bengali reality singing show Aakashe Superstar broadcast on the channel Aakash Aath. His independent single Oviman achieved over 20,000 views on YouTube, and in 2024 he released his Hindi track Tera Safar, continuing his journey in the indie music space.

Musical style and influences

Biraj blends elements of Indian pop, indie rock, and acoustic folk. His songwriting often touches themes of emotion, heartbreak, and self-reflection. He draws inspiration from artists like Arijit Singh, Armaan Malik, the Bengali rock band Fossils, and the Hindi band The Local Train.
