DJ Mac Cummings (born December 17, 1970), professionally known as the Turntable Minister, is an American worldwide Gospel DJ influencer and radio personality. He is best known for his "Inspirational Gospel Mixes" and his work in spreading Gospel music through modern turntablism. Early life and military service

Mac Cummings was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, a city renowned for its deep musical heritage. During his youth, his family relocated to Holly Springs, Mississippi, where he was raised. Following his high school graduation, Cummings enlisted in the United States Navy on June 1, 1988. His military service was concluded due to a physical injury, resulting in an honorable discharge. He remains an active advocate for veteran rights and is currently involved in an ongoing appeal regarding his service-related injury.

Barbering and entrepreneurship

In the early 1990s, Cummings moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he launched a distinguished career in the barbering industry. He gained early recognition at Exclus Barbershop in South Memphis, where he is credited with creating the "Gucci links" hair design, a trend that showcased his creative artistry.

His entrepreneurial spirit led him to open his first shop, Kutz Unlimited, in the Raleigh suburb of Memphis from 1993 to 1994. He later expanded his business footprint as the owner of World of Kutz in Hickory Hill (1996–2002). In 2002, he relocated his operations to the Southwind area, maintaining a presence there until 2018. To this day, Cummings continues to carry the legacy of his barbershop brand alongside his ministry work.

Transition to ministry and broadcasting

Having been drawn to music from an early age by the soulful sounds of the Mid-South, Cummings eventually pivoted his focus toward faith-based entertainment. This lifelong musical influence informed his unique approach to Gospel music and turntablism.

Known as the "Turntable Minister," Cummings has bridged the gap between traditional Gospel ministry and the art of DJing. His platform is centered on creating "Inspirational Gospel Mixes" that cater to a global audience. He eventually relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he transitioned into broadcasting and digital ministry. He utilizes digital radio and social media to reach listeners across several continents, building a brand centered on the integration of faith, rhythm, and professional broadcasting.
