Muhammad ka janm Mecca ke ek aristocrat parivar Banu Hashim mein hua tha, jo Quraysh kabile ka hissa tha. Unke pita, Abdullah, unke janm se pehle hi inteqal kar gaye the. Jab wo 6 saal ke the, unki maa Amina bint Wahb ka bhi nidhan ho gaya, jiske baad wo ek anath (orphan) ke roop mein bade huye. Unki parvarish pehle unke dada Abd al-Muttalib aur baad mein unke chacha Abu Talib ne ki.[2]
Pahli Wahi (Prophethood)
40 saal ki umra mein (610 CE), jab wo Mecca ke paas Hira gufa mein ibadat kar rahe the, unhe Farishta Gabriel (Jibrail) dikhai diye. Wahan unhe Allah ki taraf se pehli wahi nazil hui. In shikshaon ko baad mein Quran mein jama kiya gaya. Muhammad ne Mecca mein "Allah ek hai" ka sandesh diya, jiska wahan ke murti-pujako ne kadi mukhalifat ki.
Hijrah aur Medina ka Qayam
Mecca mein badhte hue zulm ke karan, 622 CE mein Muhammad aur unke sathi (Sahaba) Mecca se Medina chale gaye. Is safar ko Hijrah kaha jata hai, jahan se Islamic calendar shuru hota hai. Medina mein unhone ek naya Islamic state qayam kiya aur Constitution of Medina ke zariye sabhi dharmon aur kabilon ko ek kiya.
Conquest of Mecca
630 CE mein, Muhammad ne 10,000 Muslim army ke saath Mecca fateh kiya. Is fateh ki sabse badi baat ye thi ki unhone apne sabhi purane dushmano ko maaf kar diya aur Kaaba se buton (idols) ko saaf kiya. Is event ke baad lagbhag poora Arabia Islam ke parcham tale aa gaya.[3]
Legacy aur Social Reforms
Muhammad ne Arab samaj mein kai bade sudhaar kiye, jaise aurton ko virasat (inheritance) ka haq dena, garibo ki madad (Zakat) ko lazmi karna, aur nasalwaad (racism) ko khatam karke insani barabari ka sandesh dena.
