Picture Frame (Link Strummer song)
Picture Frame” is a song by Canadian singer-songwriter Link Strummer and the second single from his second studio album. It was released independently on January 16, 2026. It was written by Link Strummer and Ole Pedersen. Strummer was inspired to write the song after an ex blocked him and justified it by rewriting the narrative and framing him as the villain.
Background and Composition
In December 2025, Strummer began teasing the single on Instagram and TikTok, with promo reels and a post [1] announcing the context. The lyrics examine how blocking, rewriting memories, and calling distance “healing” to avoid responsibility can feel easier than the truth, especially post-breakup. The recurring image of a picture frame represents trying to erase proof of something real.
Picture Frame is written in the key of D minor with a BPM of 150. Strummer’s vocal range (including backing vocals) spans from G2 to D5. The song’s artwork features Strummer biting a polaroid of a screenshot of text messages while holding a gold picture frame.
