Early life and academic background

Utsa Barua was born on September 21, 2004, in Chattogram, Bangladesh. Growing up in the Chattogram division, he pursued a science-focused education from an early age. He attended North Padua ML High School, where he completed his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) within the Science group.

He continued his higher secondary education at Rangunia Government College, a significant educational hub in the region, where he successfully earned his Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), also in the Science group. His early academic years were characterized by a strong foundation in the natural and physical sciences.

Academic transition and CSE studies

Following his HSC, Barua initially chose to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Botany at Rangamati Government College. He dedicated two years to the study of plant biology and natural sciences.

In a significant career move, Barua relocated to Dhaka to accept a professional appointment. Recognizing his growing interest and professional involvement in information technology, he made the strategic decision to transition from biological sciences to engineering. He is currently an undergraduate student at the Apparel Institute of Fashion & Technology (AIFT), where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). This shift marks his commitment to becoming a technology professional while leveraging his previous scientific background.[1]

Career at Dharmarajika

Barua currently serves as the Computer Lab Operator at Basabo Dharmarajika High School and College in Dhaka.[2] The institution is a part of the Dharmarajika Buddhist Monastery complex, which is well-regarded for its extensive social welfare and educational programs.

In his professional role, Barua is responsible for the technical management of the school's digital infrastructure. His duties include:

  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of computer hardware and networking systems.
  • Facilitating computer literacy and practical lab sessions for students.
  • Supporting faculty members in the integration of multimedia and digital tools into the curriculum.
  • Ensuring the security and efficiency of the institution's information systems.

His work at Dharmarajika was the primary catalyst for his academic pivot into Computer Science, as he sought to deepen his technical expertise to better serve the educational sector.[3]
