Akil Prasath LV is an Indian entrepreneur, product developer and blockchain analyst known as the founder and editor-in-chief of Cryip, an independent cryptocurrency news and research publication based in Chennai, India.[1][2]
Career
Early Work
Akil Prasath began working in blockchain technology in 2015 as a product researcher and smart contract developer for a stealth startup, where he conducted tokenomics and competitor analysis for ICO fundraising.[3]
From 2017 to 2018, he served as lead product developer at TradeUlti.com, where he developed B2B networking functions for small and medium enterprises.
Between 2018 and 2020, he founded VoidX, an independent venture that developed and released applications across Android and web platforms. The project launched applications in cryptocurrency, utility, and entertainment categories, achieving over 1 million installs.[4]
During the same period, he worked as an indie product lead at Moringo Game Studio, where he built and released games for iOS and Android platforms using Unity 3D and BuildBox.
CoinMarketCap
Akil Prasath worked at CoinMarketCap from November 2020 to January 2023 in various operational roles. He started in listing operations, where he reviewed cryptocurrency submissions and integrated assets and exchanges to the platform. He developed ranking systems to evaluate crypto projects and created data analysis tools for market trends.[5]
In his senior role from January 2022 to January 2023, he worked on data verification for cryptocurrency listings, developed internal tools, and managed the CMC200 Global Index. He also contributed to the development of ICO calendar and airdrop products.[6]
Subsequent Roles
From February 2023 to September 2024, Akil Prasath served as Strategic Product Operations Lead at KoinBX, a cryptocurrency exchange, where he worked on exchange listing strategy and asset onboarding.
He has been a governance member of Global Coin Research, a Web3 investment community, since February 2023, where he participates in voting on governance and investment proposals.[7]
Hashlays and Cryip
In October 2024, Akil Prasath co-founded Hashlays, a company focused on Web3 initiatives, where he leads company strategy and product development.
In April 2025, he founded Cryip, a cryptocurrency news and research platform. The platform focuses on on-chain analytics, tokenomics analysis, and data-driven market insights. As founder and editor-in-chief, he oversees product development, platform architecture, and editorial operations.[8][9]
