Brenda Gentry (born November 3, 1975), popularly known as "Crypto Mom", is an American blockchain advisor, Web3 educator, entrepreneur, keynote speaker, and financial empowerment advocate. She is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gentry Media and Gentry Tech. Brenda is widely recognized for educating women, minorities, and underserved communities about cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, decentralized finance (DeFi), and digital wealth creation.

Early life and education

Brenda Gentry was born in Kakamega, Kenya. She later moved to Germany, where she met her husband nearly three decades ago. Her two daughters were also born in Germany.

While living in Germany, Brenda worked for the United States government as a Local National employee before relocating to the United States with the military. She later attended the University of the Incarnate Word.

Career

Before entering the blockchain industry, Brenda Gentry built a professional career in traditional finance and banking. She worked with USAA Bank, gaining over 20 years of experience in the financial sector.

In 2021, she transitioned into cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, a move that significantly changed her professional direction. According to Gentry, her crypto investments eventually surpassed more than a decade of traditional savings, inspiring her mission to educate others about financial opportunities in Web3.
