Jobin Thomas
Jobin Thomas was born on 26 June 1982 in Pasukadav, a small village near Calicut, Kerala, India. He began his education at Little Flower UP School, Pasu kadav, where he completed his primary studies. He later attended St. Joseph’s High School, Champanoda, for his secondary education. After successfully completing his high school education, he moved to Mangalore to pursue his pre-university course (PUC) at St. Aloysius s College.
Jobin completed his Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Calicut University, followed by a Master’s degree in English Literature from the same university. Alongside his passion for language and literature, he developed a keen interest in education and healthcare. He later earned a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and pursued his nursing degree from Subhash School of Nursing, Bangalore.
After completing his nursing studies, Jobin began his professional career as an English Literature teacher at Holy Cross High School,Datia , and later worked as an English teacher in the Maldives. His diverse educational background and teaching experience helped him combine linguistic excellence with a deep understanding of communication in healthcare, shaping the foundation for his later academic and professional pursuits in the United Kingdom.
Jobin Thomas began his professional career as an English Literature teacher at Holy Cross High School, Bidadi, Karnataka, where he demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence and student development. He later expanded his teaching career internationally by joining a secondary school in the Maldives as an English teacher, gaining valuable experience in multicultural education.
Jobin pursued his long-standing interest in healthcare and completed his nursing qualification. His dual expertise in English and healthcare inspired him to integrate language education with medical communication training, leading to the foundation of Jobin’s Training in 2017. Based in Kerala, Jobin's Training quickly became one of the most recognised institutions for OET and IELTS preparation, employing over one hundred teachers in its online division and nearly forty educators across its offline centres in the Kottayam district. The institution became known for its high standards, innovative teaching methods, and commitment to supporting healthcare professionals seeking to improve their English proficiency.
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Jobin transitioned Jobins Training entirely to an online model, continuing to provide high-quality OET and IELTS training to students worldwide. Alongside managing the institution, he has authored more than 300 original books for healthcare and academic English learners, most of which are published on Amazon KDP and other major global platforms, including Draft2Digital, Google Play Books, Lulu, Pothi, and Barnes & Noble Press.
Currently based in the United Kingdom, Jobin works as a registered nurse while continuing his publishing and academic activities. He is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) and is pursuing a PhD in Education, focusing on the psychological impact of workplace English communication barriers among international healthcare assistants in the UK. His career reflects a rare combination of clinical practice, education, authorship, and linguistic scholarship.
Jobin Thomas was born into a close-knit family in Calicut, Kerala, India. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Velaparambil, and has two brothers and one sister, all of whom are settled in Calicut. Family and cultural roots remain an important part of his identity, even as he continues to live and work in the United Kingdom.
Jobin is a father of two children — a daughter and a son — whom he deeply cherishes. Although divorced, he continues to maintain a strong sense of family connection and responsibility. Despite his professional commitments abroad, he frequently engages with his family in India and draws strength from their encouragement and support.
Outside his academic and professional pursuits, Jobin is known for his reflective nature and dedication to lifelong learning. His personal experiences across different countries and professions have shaped his values of resilience, empathy, and education, which he continues to promote through his work as an author, educator, and healthcare professional.
