Gamma-Ray is a fictional character and robot toy made by BMOG Toys in 2014. He is an evil Paraxxoid manta ray.

BMOG Toys edit

Gamma-Ray is a character from the BMOG (Bio-Mechanical Ordnance Gestalts) toy line. He is not an homage to any existing character, but meant to be used as either a stand-alone figure, or as accessories to any toy capable of using 5mm port accessories, such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Zoids Blox, and many others.

Development edit

The BMOG Toys bear and manta mold was designed by Trent Troop. The axe form is inspired by the axe that comes with He-Man. The outline was first teased on the BMOG Tumblr page in October 2013.[1]

Fundraising for the BMOG Toys bear and manta mold was done through Kickstarter. The goal of raising $19,000 was surpassed by the end of the fundraising period on December 13th, 2013.

BMOG Toys designer Trent Troop has commented that the "Toxic Spill" green used for Bearium and Gamma-Ray is similar to the green found on Generation 1 Scorpulator's stinger/legs.[2]

Designs for the Bearium and Gamma-Ray colors of the molds were announced when they were placed for preorder on Big Bad Toy Store in April 2014.

Bearium and Gamma-Ray were released at BotCon 2014.

Reception edit

Fictional biography edit

The evil Gamma-Ray was brought to life when weapons made by a group of evil interdimensional arms dealers were exposed to the power of the last world seed. He is a member of the Paraxxoids and companion to the evil Bearium. Gamma-Ray has under-wing turbines that work both in air and water. He breaks down into a depleted uranium war pick and gamma burst pistol.

Gamma-Ray is a formidable Paraxxoid warrior. His depleted uranium skin makes his body an armor-piercing wonder while he fires gamma ray bursts from his head. Gamma-Ray often leases his services to evil denizens who need to enter radioactive warzones. Greedy to the core, Gamma-Ray lusts for treasure to add to his increasingly elaborate collection. Fortunately for his clients, his “treasure" is another man's trash. He sees no value in anything unless it is half-broken and dredged out of warzone, landfill, or flea market.

Games edit

Bearium and Gamma-Ray appear as expansion characters in the Kaiju Kaos miniatures game.
