Rizwan Rashid Rewon
Rizwan Rashid Rewon (born 21 March 2006) is a Bangladeshi student and IT enthusiast known for designing and constructing a homemade go-kart using locally sourced materials. His work gained attention across Bangladeshi digital media platforms and social media, where it has been discussed as an example of youth-driven innovation and informal engineering practice.
Early life and background
Rewon was born in Dinajpur, Bangladesh, where he spent his early childhood. He later moved to Mohammadpur, Dhaka, where he currently resides.
From an early age, he developed an interest in mechanical systems, digital technology, and creative construction. His curiosity about machines and software tools influenced his inclination toward hands-on experimentation and self-directed learning.
Education
Rewon is a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) 2025 commerce student in Bangladesh. Alongside his academic studies, he has shown an active interest in IT-related fields and practical technical skills.
Inspiration and concept
The idea of building a go-kart originated from Rewon's experience with commercial go-kart driving in Dhaka. Observing the relatively high cost and limited access, he decided to explore the possibility of building a similar vehicle independently.
This idea evolved into a personal project aimed at replicating the essential functionality of a go-kart using affordable, locally available materials.
Go-kart project
Rewon constructed the go-kart over a period of approximately three months. The project involved assembling a structural frame, integrating a generator-based engine, and developing steering and braking mechanisms.
The construction process required experimentation and multiple adjustments. Without formal engineering training, he relied on self-learning methods, including online tutorials and practical trial-and-error techniques.
Key features of the go-kart include:
- Generator engine-powered system
- Basic steering mechanism
- Custom braking system
- Reinforced chassis structure
- Seatbelt for safety

Media coverage
Rewon's project has received coverage across Bangladeshi digital media and social media platforms.
A feature article published by Jagonews24 highlighted his work and described it as an example of youth initiative.[1]
In addition to written coverage, his project has been featured in video reports and interviews by several media platforms, including:
- The Business Standard[2]
- InDepth Zone
- Hello Bangla News
- Durbin News
- IBN24.tv

Public response
Rewon's project has generated public interest across social media platforms, where it has been widely shared and discussed. Responses often highlight themes of creativity, determination, and self-learning.
Significance
The go-kart project has been viewed by observers as a representation of grassroots innovation and informal engineering practice. It reflects how accessible digital knowledge and local resources can support individual experimentation outside formal institutional environments.
