Basir Ahmad Sultanzadah is an Afghan singer, composer, and songwriter whose musical journey began in his late teens. Trained under the guidance of the renowned Khoshnawaz brothers and the late Ustad Haji Del Ahang, he developed a deep passion for traditional Afghan music and modern composition. Since 2014, he has written and released around 68 songs across YouTube, Afghan television channels, and radio platforms. He performs vocals and plays several instruments, including harmonica, piano, sitar, and beginner-level tabla, blending emotional expression with cultural roots in every piece.


Study

He began school at the age of six, continued his early education at Taki Primary School and Sultan Qiasaddin High School, and later entered the Kabul University of Medicine in 1986, graduating in 2007

Work Experience/ Professions

He began his medical career in Herat and briefly in the Ghorian District, continuing to work in his district hospital until leaving Afghanistan in 1998 for Iran, and later relocating to Europe in 2007. In the Netherlands, he continued practicing medicine while completing further training, including a short-term cardiac ultrasound program at Erasmus MC Rotterdam, followed by additional education leading to his specialization in Geriatrics between 2003 and 2005. He obtained his doctorate in 2007 and further deepened his expertise in geriatrics from 2010 to 2013. Alongside his clinical work, he has served as a trainer at LUMC, contributed to ParkinsonNet, participated in dementia expertise teams, and worked as an intervision supervisor.
