Vladimir Djordjevic (Serbian Cyrillic: Владимир Ђорђевић; born 1973) is a Serbian politician, martial artist and film producer. He has been a member of the National Assembly of Serbia since 2024, elected as a candidate of the NADA coalition led by the Movement for the Restoration of the Kingdom of Serbia (POKS).[1][2]

Early life and education

Djordjevic was born in Belgrade in 1973. According to his official biography, he later obtained American citizenship and is a doctoral candidate in cultural studies.[3][4]

He has trained in various martial arts since childhood and later specialized in kickboxing, muay thai and Real Aikido. Djordjevic is the founder of the self-defence and tactical system Odbrana, and has served as an instructor within the World Centre of Real Aikido.[5][6]

Film and writing career

Before entering national politics, Djordjevic worked in independent film and television production, mainly in the United States. He has producer or associate-producer credits on several feature films and television series, including the romantic comedy She Wants Me (2012).[7][8] He has also published works of popular non-fiction and fiction in Serbian, including books on self-defence and historical themes.[9]

Political career

Djordjevic became involved in the Movement for the Restoration of the Kingdom of Serbia (POKS) in the late 2010s. He later rose to a leadership role and is described as a vice-president of the party.[10][11]

He was elected to the National Assembly on the NADA za Srbiju electoral list for the 2023–24 parliamentary election; his mandate began 6 February 2024. In parliament he sits with the NOVI DSS–POKS (NADA) parliamentary group and serves on committees dealing with human and minority rights, diaspora and defence and internal affairs.[12][13]

Since entering parliament, Djordjevic has been vocal in issues such as student and teacher protests, media freedom, and the status of Kosovo. In 2024, he criticised a request by the Ministry of Education for schools to list employees who participated in protests — calling it “shameful” and an act of intimidation. He argued that protest marches and student blockades are a legitimate form of political pressure when free and fair elections are lacking.[14][15][16]

In 2025, he called on public-sector employees not to succumb to political pressure to attend a large pro-government rally in Belgrade, saying they “are not there to be marionettes.”[17]

Role in the Council of Europe

Since 2024, Djordjevic has been part of the Serbian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).[18][19]

In 2025 he appeared in PACE wearing a yellow vest — a symbolic gesture he said was meant to draw attention to student demands and Serbia’s overall situation. He also publicly explained his vote on a resolution regarding :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2} in an opinion piece.[20][21]

Personal life

Public sources indicate that Djordjevic divides his time between Serbia and the United States, where he previously lived and worked in film and martial arts. Further personal details remain private.[22]
