Matouš Kudrna (born 1 September 2006), known professionally as Mats Kedrren, is a Czech DJ, record producer, songwriter and remixer from Pilsen. He has been creating his music since the age of 9 using the FL Studio computer program, which he likes for its clarity and simplicity.

Life and career

Matouš Kudrna was born on September 1 in Pilsen, Czechia, to parents Jaroslav and Andrea. He has a sister named Johanka. As a child, he played soccer for several years. He began producing music at the age of nine in his bedroom. After seeing Martin Garrix perform at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami in 2014, he became interested in music production. Garrix's song "Animals" became his greatest inspiration, prompting him to download FL Studio music software and start experimenting. He entered the music scene in 2015, when he began regularly releasing his first remixes and singles. He has been fascinated by electronic music since an early age.

He released his first EP in 2015. Over the course of three years, he released several singles, the first of which, "Lowest Point," was played on several radio stations around the world after its release in 2016.

On May 27, 2018, Mats Kedrren founded his own music publishing company called WILLIUM MUSIC. After its founding, Kedrren transferred his previously released songs to his publishing company. Today, all of his songs are released under his publishing company.

Kedrren's early work was mostly deep house and progressive house, usually based on repetitive structures, sub-bass, and simple synthesizer melodies. His debut studio album Paradise of Heaven was released as part of the duo NOX LUX with his lifelong friend Adam Reithar, whom he has known since childhood. Paradise of Heaven mixes musical genres, including electronic and ambient music. NOX LUX is known for its songs with distinctive bass lines. When creating the album, Kedrren wanted to combine electronic music with ambient music.

In February 2026, Mats Kedrren announced that he was taking an indefinite creative break. He stated that he needed time for personal and artistic regeneration. At the same time, he emphasized that this did not mean the end of his musical career. According to his statement, he plans to return with a new, stronger story, a more sophisticated vision, and a solo debut album, which should be released in the coming years. This announcement has raised expectations among his listeners regarding his future work. He also mentioned that he’s working on a non‑musical project, though he didn’t reveal any details about it.

A month later, Kedrren withdrew all his songs from all digital platforms along with the NOX LUX project, commenting, "Žádný hluk. Jen ticho, které se chystá prasknout ve správný okamžik." In the same year, he added that he had a new distribution agreement ready for his upcoming debut album.

Influences

Mats Kedrren cites Martin Garrix, Avicii and Swedish House Mafia as his musical influences. He is also a big fan of the French duo Daft Punk.
