MD Abu Bakkar

MD Abu Bakkar (born 30 December 1999 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) is a Bangladeshi entrepreneur, author, and tech influencer. He is best known as the Founder and CEO of HostOrient as well as the Chairman of Extent Technologies Limited. Renowned for his leadership in the web hosting and IT industry, he also creates digital content for his YouTube channel, Chokkor with Bakkar.

Career

Extent Technologies Limited (2016–present)

On August 17, 2016, MD Abu Bakkar co-founded Extent Technologies Limited alongside Nagera Akther in Moulvibazar, Bangladesh. He serves as the company's Founder and Chairman. Extent Technologies Limited is a member of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and registered with the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC). The company provides IT infrastructure, cloud computing, data center solutions, software development, and web development services.

HostOrient (2019–present)

On September 21, 2019, MD Abu Bakkar founded HostOrient as a specialized hosting brand under Extent Technologies Limited. He serves as Founder and CEO. HostOrient is co-founded by Nagera Akther, who serves as Co-Founder and CFO. HostOrient is one of Bangladesh's leading BDIX-connected web hosting and cloud service providers, serving thousands of businesses domestically and internationally.

Previous Ventures

Bakkar began his entrepreneurial journey by founding Hosterline, a web hosting startup later acquired in 2021. He subsequently established Hosttier, marking another milestone in his contribution to the hosting ecosystem in Bangladesh.

Personal Life & Skills

Outside of entrepreneurship, Bakkar is an avid cricketer, known as a right-hand batsman and spin bowler. He also engages with a large online audience through his travel and tech content on Chokkor with Bakkar. His multifaceted career reflects his passion for innovation, digital transformation, and community engagement.
