Ian Timis

Ian Timis (born April 12, 1981, in Băile-Borșa, Romania) is a Romanian-Australian business executive, producer, and strategic advisor with over 25 years of international experience in the natural resources sector. He is the founder and Managing Director of Eco Future Metals, a private equity and advisory firm focused on investments in critical minerals, energy transition platforms, and sustainable infrastructure.

Timis has held senior roles in Africa, Europe, North America, and the Middle East, managing full-cycle resource development—from exploration and permitting to financing, construction, production, public listing, and strategic exit. His career includes the structuring of over US$4 billion in cross-border transactions.

Notably, he played a key role in the US$2.4 billion acquisition of European Goldfields by Eldorado Gold, and later structured a US$750 million capital raise and dual listing for African Petroleum. He has advised governments, institutional investors, and private equity funds on ESG transformation, sovereign negotiations, and strategic capital deployment.

Timis holds a BA (Hons) in Business Management from the University of Westminster. He also completed advanced studies in Financial Modelling at London Business School, Petroleum Economics and International Contracts via PetroSkills, and holds a Level 3 Certification in Securities from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).
