Asif Khan
Asif Ahamed Khan Shurid (born 2 November 1996) is a Bangladeshi music composer and singer. Also known as Asif Khan or simply Asif, his songs have been featured in various albums and on television channels. He gained prominence after becoming the first runner-up in the 2013 patriotic song reality show Valobashi Bangladesh on Machranga Television. Over the years, he has received several Rising Youth Male Singer Awards from national organizations.
Early Life and Family
Asif Khan was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and hails from Comilla. He is the son of Md. Anisuzzaman Khan and Lutfun Nahar Rekha. He has a younger brother named Abid Ahmed Khan Shupto. In 2020, he married Sumaiya Alam Nijhum, and they have a daughter named Amirah Asif Khan.
Education
Asif Khan completed his SSC from Jatrabari Ideal School & College (2003–2012). He then pursued his HSC at Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College (DMRC) from 2012 to 2014. In 2020, he obtained his BBA degree from North South University.
Music Career
Asif began his music journey in 2007 at Srijon Lalitakala Academy, where he received foundational training from Ustad Masood Rana. After graduating from the academy in 2012, he continued advanced musical training under the same mentor. That year, he also began learning guitar from Afsar Khokan under the mentorship of Amit Shikder.
In 2013, he became the 1st runner-up in the patriotic reality show Valobashi Bangladesh aired on Machranga Television.
Asif released his debut solo album Tumi K? under G-Series in 2016. The album featured six solo songs and two duets, collaborating with Sabrina Nowshin Tushi and Jannat Omi. The music was composed by Mahbubul Alam Shohel, and audio mastering was done by Romel Hasan.
He also serves as the theme songwriter, composer, and lead vocal artist at Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College.
Current Work
Asif Khan continues to perform regularly in audio albums, on television channels, and across social media platforms. He remains active in Bangladesh’s contemporary music scene and digital content creation.
