Screw Head is a fictional character from the GoBots series. He is an evil Renegade GoBot introduced in 1983 who turns into a drill tank.

Fictional biography

There are no screws loose on this evil mechanical genius. Screw Head invents wicked weapons for Cy-Kill's criminal cohorts.

Abilities

Like most GoBots, Screw Head has numerous abilities because of his robotic body. He does not age, can survive in space and is super-humanly strong and tough. He can fly in robot mode and project energy blasts from his hands. His body heals quickly when supplied with energy. He can turn into a drill tank.

Screw Head has used a Renegade GoBot P4 Power Suit to enhance his abilities and give himself short-range teleportation capability.

Screw Head in Challenge of the Gobots

Screw Head first appeared in Challenge of the GoBots episode #2, "Target Earth".

He then made a rather surly presence on Roguestar's bridge for the decisive battle with the Guardians and the Last Engineer.

In the episode #24 "Scooter Enhanced" Scooter and Small Foot join Nick and A.J. to watch a car stunt show which is attacked by Crasher, BuggyMan and Fly Trap. Small Foot fights Buggyman and defeats him, but the Renegades gain the upper hand. The Guardians are rescued by Leader-1 and Turbo who arrive in Power Suits. Cy-Kill vows to gain Power Suits for the Renegades. Scooter decides he needs more firepower, so he has Professor von Joy remove his damaged holo projector in favor of a blaster unit. Screw Head, Bad Boy and Cop-Tur are sent to attack Unecom bases and distract the Guardians while Cy-Kill, Crasher and Scorp attempt to take the suits from the Guardian Command Center. Small Foot and Scooter are able to delay the Renegades until Leader-1 and Turbo return to chase away the Renegades. Realizing he was a better Guardian with his holo projector, Scooter has it reinstalled.

Robot Chicken

Screw Head was featured in a segment of Robot Chicken season 8 episode 19, called "The Angelic Sounds of Mike Giggling". In the segment Cy-Kill announces plans for an attack on the Guardians from two teams lead by himself and Tank, but his speech keeps getting interrupted by Screw Head, who he eventually shots in frustration.

Screw Head appeared in the Transformers: Renegade Rhetoric episode #17 "Coup de Grunge" by Fun Publications. A Renegade assault on the Guardian communication hub was repulsed by Courageous, putting Cy-Kill in a foul mood. He vented his frustration on several of his men, which backfired shortly thereafter when the Master Renegade made a bid for leadership. He offered the Renegades four Power Suits and the ability to form their own combiner. Loco, Fly Trap, Screw Head, and Spoiler took him up on his offer and imprisoned Cy-Kill and Cop-Tur. The Renegades assaulted the GoBotron Fortress protecting GoBotron's capital, GoBotolis. Their combined form was defeated by Courageous when the Master Renegade and Loco argued about who should control the giant form. The Guardians derisively nicknamed the combiner "Grungy". The Renegades returned to Rogue Star, only to find Cy-Kill free. The Master Renegade escaped with his ship, but not before Spoiler had managed a full scan of it. Dr. Go was confident that, not only could he duplicate it, he could improve upon it.

Screw Head was featured in the 2016 Ask Vector Prime story Echoes and Fragments, set during the events of The Transformers: The Movie. The manipulations of the evil Gong and Sideways resulted in various GoBots swapping places with characters during the events of that film. Crain Brain, Screw Head and Spoons took the place of the Insecticons in the story. The three participated on the attack on Autobot city, attempting to breech the city's defenses until Kup injured Screw Head. When Unicron reached an agreement with Megatron, Crain Brain and Screw Head rebuilt into huntsmen called the Sweeps, green clones of Deadlift.
